Ira Glass on Storytelling
Bara fruktansvärt tröstande ibland.
”And you got really good taste, and you get into this thing and I dont know how to discribe it but it’s like a gap. That’s for the first couple of years you make this stuff…what you’re making isnt so good. It’s not that great, it’s trying to be good but it’s not that good.
But your taste – the thing that got you into the game – is still a killer, and your taste is good enough that you can tell that what you’re making is kind of a disappointment. That you can tell that it’s still sort of crapy. A lot of people never get past that phase – a lot of people at that point quit.
And the thing that I just want to say to you with all my heart is; that everybody I know who does interesting creative work go thrue that.
“/…/And the most possible thing you can do, is to do a lot of work. Do huge value of work. Put yourself on a deadline.”
